Director Jerrod Henoch

Jerrod has extensive professional experience with children and youth and has honed his entrepreneurial skills and business acumen in the corporate sector.

Jerrod spent over 20 summers at camp, and considers those summers to be many of the best of his life.

Jerrod’s formative years were spent growing and eventually working in child and youth programs at the Winnipeg Jewish Community Centre and at BB Camp Kenora.  Jerrod has earned degrees in Outdoor Recreation and Social Work and specializes in Youth Development, Outdoor Education, Wilderness Adventure Therapy and Experiential Based Training and Development.

Jerrod has over 20 years of experience working with children and teens in residential camps, community, education, treatment and corrections setting.

Assistant Director Joshua Staav

Joshua Staav returns to camp this summer after taking one year off.  This will be his sixteenth summer at camp and his third in an Assistant Director role.  He is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the camp facility.  He also helps in programming and supervising both staff and campers.

Away from camp, Joshua completed a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Toronto in December.


Assistant Director Leah Shafran

Leah Shafran is glad to be back at camp for yet another summer! She has been coming to BB-Riback since her dad volunteered when she was in diapers– and she hasn’t left since. During the off-season, Leah worked as the interim director before Jerrod was brought onto the team. As an Assistant Director, Leah manages the camp administration, vendor relations, accounting, and camper concerns.

Leah is a recent graduate from the University of Western Ontario.


Program Manager Daniel Masliyah

Daniel Masliyah returns to camp this summer after taking a 5 year hiatus.  Daniel is very excited to be back and is responsible for all camper units and specialty areas at Camp BB-Riback.

Away from Camp, Daniel has just completed second year law at McGill University.


 


Cochavim Coordinator Mira Feldman

Mira Feldman is a student at McGill University. She is studying Elementary Education with a concentration in Jewish Studies. She has a passion for young children and maintaining a strong sense of Jewish identity.

Mira only started coming to Camp BB-Riback in her first year of staff in 2008. After attending other summer camps as a camper, Mira decided to make the switch and has never been happier. She spent her first three years gaining experience as a Cochavim and Wonder Week counselor and is ecstatic to take on her new role as the 2011 Cochavim Coordinator. This is going to be a magical summer full of new experiences, new friendships, and everlasting memories.


Ruach Coordinator Laura Moser

For the past four summers, Laura Moser has been an active staff member at Camp BB-Riback. She has been a Cochavim, Ruach, and CIT counselor. In the summer of 2010, she took her leadership skills to the next level and was the coordinator for the Counsellor In Training unit. With the experience of the position, she is now taking on the role of Ruach Coordinator. Laura has been attending Camp BB since she was in Wonder Week, and considers is to be an important part of her life and youth. Outside of camp, Laura is a Broadcasting student at Mount Royal University in Calgary.


Machon Coordinator Daniel Holtzman


LTP Coordinator Daniel Milner

First coming to Camp BB-Riback as an LTP camper, Daniel Milner fell in love with camp and everything that it has to offer. Gaining experience as a Wonder Week counselor for two summers and a CIT counselor, Daniel first became a coordinator in summer 2010 for Cochavim. This summer, Daniel is proud and excited to take on the role of LTP coordinator.


CIT Coordinator Daniel Wagner

Daniel Wagner spent his first summer at Camp as a Wonder Week camper in 1999. After becoming hooked that first summer, Daniel has returned every summer since and is now entering his fifth year as staff at camp. Daniel has worked as a counselor for Cochavim, Ruach, and Machon, and also has spent time working at the Pool and Waterfront. Last summer, Daniel was the Ruach Coordinator. This summer, Daniel will be CIT Coordinator and could not be more excited. Daniel is looking forward to this opportunity where he will be working with the older camper on camp for the first time.

Currently a student at the University of Calgary, Daniel is enrolled in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program majoring in Health and Society. As a child, Daniel attended elementary school at Akiva Academy, and then attended the Calgary Jewish Academy for Junior High school.

Daniel has been working with children and youth since the age of 16 when he was a lifeguard and swimming instructor at the Calgary JCC. Since 2008, Daniel has been working at the The Renert Centre in Calgary where he tutors math and science.

Altitude Supervisor Justin Antflick

Justin Antflick was born and raised in Edmonton and has been going to Camp BB since 1998 when he was a Wonder Weeker. Justin has spent previous years as staff as a counselor and altitude specialist and this summer will be working his second year as the altitude supervisor. He loves encouraging campers to challenge themselves and try new things at his area of expertise.


Creative Arts Supervisor Jackie Lebenzon

Starting off as a wonder weeker, Jackie has been a camper at Camp BB-Riback for twelve years. Putting the leadership skills she developed as a camper to use, Jackie has worked in the Arts and Crafts centre for the past two years. Now, she is taking on the role of Creative Arts Supervisor to oversee the areas of Arts and Crafts, Pottery, Jewelry, and the Performing Arts. Currently a second year science student at the University of Western Ontario, Jackie has never failed to make time for her creative passion. She devoted much of her high school years to art, and is very excited to share her enthusiasm for creativity with the rest of camp!

This is Keith’s first year as part of the Camp BB family! He is very excited to be joining the team this year as head of maintenance. Keith grew up west of Edmonton and is currently studying anthropology at Dalhousie University in Halifax.
